Information requests from the reporting system YLVA

The Finnish Environment Institute responds to requests for information concerning waste data from the reporting system YLVA. Requests for information from YLVA may concern, for example:

• Reported information concerning the outgoing and incoming waste flows of an activity requiring an environmental permit on an annual basis
• Waste stored by an activity requiring an environmental permit at the end of the year
• Information reported by activities requiring an environmental permit on specified list-of-waste entries (LoW code) on an annual basis

Information and material available in the environmental administration's information systems can be ordered with certain restrictions.

When materials are delivered, the costs incurred for their extraction and processing will be charged. In addition, the costs incurred for providing photocopies, printouts, and other copies, as well as for granting rights of use, will be charged.

The Finnish Environment Institute's service fee, which covers the costs of extracting and processing the material is 100 euros (+ VAT at the rate applicable at the time) per hour. The minimum charge is 100 euros (+ VAT at the rate applicable at the time).

Before the work is started, an information service agreement is always drawn up for information requests leading to data extraction. The agreement specifies, among other things, the information to be extracted and an estimate of the cost.
