PRTR Non-point source emissions

The website presents information on non-point source PRTR releases in Finland. Non-point source releases cover activities that do not exceed the reporting thresholds set to reporting under the European PRTR in the industry, energy production, agriculture and waste sectors, as well as activities like transport and product use. Finnish PRTR facilities reports are available through the E-PRTR website.

Methodology

The non-point source emissions are calculated as the difference between the total national emissions and data reported under the E-PRTR. For air pollutant emissions, emission data reported under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution (UNECE CLRTAP) and the EU National Emission Ceilings Directive (2001/71/EC, NECD) are used, while to calculate greenhouse gas emissions, emission data reported under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are used.

Abbreviations and source categories used in the presentation of data can be found in the following links:

Non-point source air emissions

Non-point source air pollutant emissions for years 2007-2019 are presented in Table 1 above.

In table 1:  Mg =103kg = t ; Gg = 106kg = kt; g I-Teq = g International Toxic Equivalent

Greenhouse gas emissions

Greenhouse gases for years 2007-2019 are presented in Table 2.
