The total budget for this project led by the ELY Centre for Southwest Finland (formerly Southwest Finland Regional Environment Centre) is 3.4 million euros, of which the EU's LIFE-Nature Fund will provide half. The LIFE-Nature Fund supports projects, which aim to manage and conserve different European animal and plant species, as well as habitats. The fund supports the implementation of the European Union's Birds and Habitats Directives, as well as the development of the Natura 2000 areas. The aim of the project is to protect the areas' natural features and to preserve diversity in nature.

As well as the beneficiary, project partners and co-financiers have responsibility for the project's national share of the funding too. Project partners finance and carry out the work of the project. Co-financiers do not carry out work on the project themselves; they merely fund the project.
