HINKU municipalities

The Carbon Neutral Municipalities project (HINKU project) was launched in 2008 in five municipalities. These HINKU municipalities have committed to an 80 procent emission reduction by 2030 from the level of 2007.

  • Kuhmoinen
  • Mynämäki
  • Padasjoki
  • Parikkala
  • Uusikaupunki

In addition, six municipalities have joined the project as partners. They have started to study the possibilities of climate change mitigation and to implement activities to reduce their climate impact together with the original HINKU municipalities and the Finnish Environment Institute.
