Environmental assessment of plans and programmes
Environmental assessment of plans and programmes is regulated by the Act on the Assessment of the Impacts of the Authorities´ Plans and Programmes on the Environment (SEA Act) which entered into force on 1.6.2005.
The legislation includes a general obligation for the authorities to assess the impacts of plans and programmes and more detailed procedural and content requirements for the assessment for certain plans and programmes. The authority responsible for the plan or programme is responsible for the environmental assessment.
