Finland's greenhouse gas emissions decrease through three joint implementation projects (6/29/2010)

Ministry of the Environment, Finland, has approved first joint implementation projects within the Finnish territory. The projects cut nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions in nitric acid plants of Yara in Siilinjärvi and Uusikaupunki by some 80-90 per cent. N₂0 is a potent greenhouse gas with an effect on climate 310 times that of carbon dioxide (CO₂).

Zambian Minister of Environment to visit Finland (Ministry of the Environment and Ministry for Foreign Affairs 5/17/2010)

Zambian Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources, H.E. Catherine Namugala will visit Finland on 17-20 May on the invitation of Minister of the Environment Paula Lehtomäki. Environment and the sustainable use of natural resources has been one of the main priorities in the long-term cooperation between Finland and Zambia. Minister Namugala will travel with a delegation consisting of representatives from the forest industry, industry, investment promotion agency and non-governmental organizations.
