Information services
The information systems of Finland's environmental administration include a broad range of environmental information covering the whole country. For some of the databases and registers, information has been collected and maintained for over a century. At this time, not all of the database descriptions are available in English; those descriptions only in Finnish can be found via the link on the right.
There are scientific libraries at each of the 13 regional environment centres, at the Ministry of the Environment and at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). These libraries are in charge of disseminating environmental information to a wide audience. SYKE's library is open to the public, as are the libraries of the regional centres. The library at the Ministry is mainly used by the personnel.
