Finland's proposed programme to promote sustainable consumption and production is one of the first such national programmes to be drafted anywhere in the world. Detailed proposals for the programme were presented in June 2005.
The proposals for the programme have been drafted for the Government by the "KULTU Committee" - a widely based team including the representatives of various stakeholder organisations, appointed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Trade and Industry in November 2003.
